Star Wars: The Old Republic saw a drastic retail sales dive in the United Kingdom following the Christmas holiday, according to statistics from Chart-Track.co.uk.
SWTOR entered sales charts at #10 in the UK when released, then began descending until its final after-holiday plummet to #38 on December 31. The sales count only in-store box sales, however, and do not apply to digital downloads, for which the statistics company had no numbers.
Analysts are predicting the same sort of sales drop in the U.S. and Canada as well. It’s common after a game’s release, especially during a holiday season, to see its sales skyrocket and then fall back to earth.
