The Death Knight is considered to be a melee character. It can be an effective tank, and it can also deal a fair amount of damage. Below a player can find information on the different Death Knight specializations builds depending on what they want to do. This article we will talk about Frost Death Knight.
The Frost Death Knight is classified as a DPS or damage dealer. They can either wield a 2 handed weapon or they can dual wield one handed weapons. Regardless of what type of weapon a player chooses to use, this is an extremely easy specialization to level in. It has massive damage burst that will help take down any kind of mob, especially elite mobs. They do have area of effect abilities like the other specializations, but they also can inflict massive single target damage.
Death Knight Weapon Choices
A Frost Death Knight on the other hand is debatable. Dual wielding two one handed weapons is debatably better than a 2 handed weapon, where this specialization is involved, but there are a few things that one should consider. These two styles are played different, and they have different ability priorities. The Death Knight should choose which type of weapon best suits their personal play style, and they also need to consider the type of gear they are currently getting.
For instance, when raiding, if the Death Knight finds that they are only getting gear that supports a Duel Wielding specialization, then that is the type of weapon they should use. As far as play style goes, a duel wielding spec is a little more forgiving if the player manages to mess up on their priority rotation than the 2 handed spec. However, the most important thing to consider is what play style they are the most comfortable with.
Outbreak is the best ability for Frost Death Knights to use at the start of a fight when they need to apply their diseases. Plague Strike should be used if their Blood Plague disease ever falls off, and Frost Strike is a great ability that allows Frost Death Knights to dump their runic power when needed. Although Death Grip is generally used as a Blood Death Knight, it can also be used by Frost Death Knights to help position a mob, but this is only a viable option if they are using the death grip glyph.
The last two abilities that are used by a Frost Death Knight are Death and Decay and Soul Reaper. Death and Decay is always a large part of a 2 handed Frost build and a Duel wielding Frost build, but it can be used to help boost a Duel wielding Frost Death Knight’s single target damage. Soul Reaper is the last ability that should be used by Frost Death Knights, but it should only be used when their target is at or below 35%.
There are only two cooldowns that are important for a Frost Death Knight to worry about when it comes to their damage, and these two cooldowns are Pillar of Frost and Army of the Death. They can also use Anti-Magic Shell in order to save their healers’ mana when they know they are going to be hit by magic damage.
Tier 2: For this tier, there are two choices that a Frost Death Knight can make. Purgatory is one option, but Anti Magic Zone is generally the best choice, because it offers protection to multiple party members.
Tier 3: Death’s Advance will be the most beneficial talent for this tier, because it is imperative that a Frost Death Knight is able to move in and out of abilities with ease, and this talent gives them that mobility.
Tier 4: The only real option in this tier for Frost Death Knights is Blood Tap, especially if they are a more experienced player.
Tier 5: Due to the changes in recent patches, Death Pact is the only choice that makes sense for a Frost Death Knight to take.
Tier 6: Desecrated Ground will be the default talent for this tier, but a Frost Death Knight might find Gorefiend’s Grasp useful in certain boss encounters.
Tier 7: Overall, Defile will provide a Frost Death Knight with the most benefits within a boss encounter.

Death Knigt vs Other Class
Death Knight vs Mage
Mages have a lot of tricks to use when fighting a Death Knight, and it can be extremely difficult to get in melee range of a good Mage. However, unlike with the Druid, a Frost Death Knight can be extremely effective against a Mage. This is mainly due to the fact that Mages are not as effective at healing themselves. The one issue that comes with fighting a Mage is making sure that they are always in combat. If they are not in combat, they can use their conjured food to restore their mana and their health. If a player is not great at keeping in melee range, then Unholy Death Knight is a great choice against Mages. An Unholy Death Knight can easily wear down the mage by spreading their diseases easier than a Frost Death Knight.
Death Knight Tips for Making Gold
Making Gold through Gathering
The Sky Golem is a new mount that was entered in the game during Mists of Pandaria, and it can be made by any Engineer with a skill level of 600. This mount is a dream for the Death Knight who enjoys farming and making gold through gathering ore and herbs, and it is not a bind on pick up item. Therefore, even if the Death Knight is not an Engineer, they can still buy a Sky Golem to use.
With the release of Warlords of Draenor, the Death Knight can also make money by fixing up their Garrison properly. It is advised for the Death Knight to build up their garrison as fast as possible while leveling up to level 100, once it becomes available. When the Death Knight’s Garrison is level one, they will be able to put one small building and one large building into their garrison. For making gold, the Enchanting building is a good bet to put into their garrison. By having this building, the Death Knight will be able to disenchant the items that they receive even without the actual Enchanting skill.
